Former Press Association reporter Martyn Ziegler has been employed by The Times.
Ziegler previously held the role of chief sports reporter at the Press Association.
The Times has now hired Ziegler in the same role.
Ziegler will head up The Times' sports politics and sports investigations.
Beginning his career at The Hull Daily Mail in 1991, Ziegler rose to the role of news editor.
He joined The Press Association in 1996, and became their chief sports reporter in the year 2000.
Ziegler will take up his role at The Times on 22nd February 2016, just in time to cover the FIFA presidential election.
Recently, The Times has also hired Alex Kay-Jelski, former Daily Mail reporter, as sports editor.
