Trinity Mirror's new title The New Day sold an estimated 150, 000 - 250, 000 copies in first week.
The new paid-for title has not released official figures, but initial estimates put the number of copies sold somewhere between 150, 000 and 250, 000.
The New Day was launched on 29th February 2016.
In a marketing initiative, two million free copies of the first edition were given out.
The launch was supported by a £5M advertising campaign.
To begin with, the title will cost 25p per issue.
After two weeks in print, the price will rise to 50p per issue.
