A steady increase in referral traffic from LinkedIn has been recorded.
In the past 8 months, referral traffic to publishers websites from LinkedIn has steadily increased.
In the first month of 2016, publishers recorded their traffic growing rapidly - as much as tripling in a short period of time.
Since then, referral traffic has continued to grow at a steady pace.
Chartbeat analytics have revealed that traffic from LinkedIn has grown from 0.15% to 0.25% for publishers since the beginning on 2016.
Josh Schwartz, chief of engineering and data science at Chartbeat, said: You cant optimize what you cant measure. Previously, publishers didnt know how much to post, how frequently, whether certain content topics were more successful. Publishers are now in a better position to make decisions on LinkedIn editorial strategy, even though it may be difficult to find that direct causal relationship.
The Economist is benefitting significantly from using LinkedIn as a tool to create brand awareness.
The title has recorded traffic from LinkedIn tripling year on year.
