The first title to close since the merger of Trinity Mirror Local World has been announced as Quirker.
Quirker, a local news website dedicated to "weird news" has been closed following the Trinity Mirror merger with Local World.
The website had employed four journalists at the time of it's closure.
A Trinity Mirror spokesperson said: “The decision has been made to close Quirker as we focus on the integration and digital development of the Local World and Trinity Mirror portfolios."
Quirker was launched in June 2015 by Local World, with the intention to publish the "weirdest and most wonderful stories" from around the UK, repackaged for a national audience.
Trinity Mirror has ruled that Quirker was not attracting enough readers to make it viable.
