Clarence House 'Screened TIME interview with Prince Charles'
Author of the TIME cover story and interview with Prince Charles claims story was screened by Clarence House.
Editor at large at TIME magazine, Catherine Mayer, has made claims about Prince Charles' representatives at Clarence House.
Mayer claims that Clarence House went through the same process with her cover story and interview, as they did with her book 'Charles: Head of a King' which was published earlier in 2015.
The terms and conditions agreed between Mayer and Clarence House have been published by the former.
The terms and conditions were published by Mayer in her aforementioned book. Mayer claims that she chose to do this, as it was her 'journalistic duty' to do so.
Channel 4 News have previously refused to sign a similar contract, while The Independent reported that other broadcasters, including Sky News have signed similar contracts in the past.
When asked about the book she wrote about Prince Charles, Mayer said: There was a two-part process. It started as a Time magazine cover story and then became a book. So there were two separate sets of agreement.
"For the Time story they gave me special access, I got to have a sit-down with him, but they didn't like me to use the word 'interview' - that was to be billed as a 'conversation' rather than an interview.
"It was recorded and I asked a question and he answered it, and then I asked a question and he answered it but we'll call it a conversation."
