Readers gained free access to US election coverage on 8th November.
From 5am ET on 8th November, for 24 hours, The FT's election day coverage became free to access.
The FT's election coverage included a Liveblog, a poll tracker, a special FirstFT email newsletter, the daily White House Countdown email, fastFT quick-reads, video updates, and a podcast.
Lionel Barber, editor of the Financial Times, said: Rarely in a US presidential election have the stakes been so high and the truths so elusive, bearing implications for the liberal world order. It is a story the FT was made to cover, providing independent news and analysis for a growing, global readership.
The title has previously made content free to access for major global events, including the UK's referendum on EU membership.
