The policy implemented by Trinity Mirror in 2013 has been amended for online comments.
Trinity Mirror launched a policy in 2013 which meant that only members of Facebook were able to comment on news stories on title websites.
Now, however, it seems that Trinity Mirror is backtracking on this policy.
The new commenting system was announced by The Manchester Evening News.
Now readers will be able to log in using a variety of methods, and comment on any news story on any Trinity Mirror title website.
The announcement read: Manchester Evening News is changing the system we use for allowing readers to comment on our stories.
We know this is disruptive but we think the new system we are introducing is worth it.
You can sign onto the new commenting platform using your preferred method. This could be through your social media account - Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Yahoo, Instagram, Pinterest or Google+. You can also register using just your email address.
Once youve registered to comment on our title you can then comment on any Trinity Mirror title.
