The observational documentary series will be commissioned by the BBC, and made by Oscar-winning producer, Simon Chinn.
As the undisputed leader of fashion magazines, Vogue has great role and influence in the industry, making for a compelling documentary. It will showcase how it can make careers and brands, while exploring the process and people behind the decisions. The two-hour long episodes will give an unprecedented access to the Conde Nast title and its staff.
The series will be produced by Lightbox, a production company co-founded by Simon Chinn, and his cousin Jonathan Chinn. Simon Chinn has won Academy awards for Man on Wire and Searching for Sugar Man, he comments that it is a fantastic and unprecedented opportunity to get to the heart of the UKs fashion industry and look at its impact globally. There will be big characters, compelling storylines and plenty of glamour, but we also want to explore some important questions about the role fashion plays today in Britain and the world beyond.
The documentary will air next year.
