Former chief political commentator for The Daily Telegraph, Peter Oborne, has announced his appointment to The Daily Mail.
Oborne has previously been employed by The Daily Mail, and has announced his return to the national daily newspaper four months after leaving his role at The Daily Telegraph.
In February, Oborne left The Telegraph as he felt the newspaper had a 'lack of integrity'.
The 'lack of integrity' that Oborne referred to, was in relation to the amount of pressure advertisers put on editorial coverage.
In particular, Oborne noted that HSBC advertisers prompted the newspaper to give very little coverage to a tax avoidance row.
Oborne is returning to The Daily Mail, which he left in 2010. He will be returning as a political columnist, and will also write a column for the Middle East Eye.
On his appointment to The Daily Mail, Oborne said "I've profoundly missed being able to write about British politics at such an amazing time."
Oborne first joined The Daily Mail in 2006, having left his position at The Spectator.
Simon Heffer, previously of The Sunday Telegraph, has also recently joined The Daily Mail.
