The independent content management system was launched in 2014.
Ghost was launched in 2014 following a successful Kickstarter campaign which raised $300, 000.
The content management system (CMS) was inspired by other systems such as WordPress and Drupal.
Users can download and run the open source software on their own servers free of charge, or can pay to use a commercial version.
Ghost regularly updates and maintains both the free and paid-for systems.
The company currently generates around $720, 000 in annual revenue.
Founder John O'Nolan said: [Ghost is] a self-funded non-profit organisation, and [the code] is given away for free without any licensing restrictions This means were building technology which is going to be around for a long time and which legally cannot be sold to [another company] or be shut down due to investor pressure."
