Michael Gillard Leaves Buzzfeed

Nine months after joining Buzzfeed, Michael Gillard has announced his departure.

Michael Gillard won Journalist of the Year at the British Journalism Awards in 2013, while working as a journalist for The Sunday Times.

He joined Buzzfeed in June 2015, joining other former Sunday Times journalists at the online title.

Buzzfeed recruited Heidi Blake, former Sunday Times assistant editor as part of its UK investeigations team.

"Coming from a strong freelance culture I have no fear of change, so I was made up when Heidi asked me to join her team and BuzzFeed's investigative vision for the digital age." said Gillard when he joined Buzzfeed.

It is not yet known where Gillard is heading next in his career.
