UK based charities have received £100, 000 in donations from the News Corp Giving Fund.
Around 5, 000 staff from Harper Collins, Dow Jones and News UK have nominated charities to receive up to £50, 000 from the News Corp Giving Fund.
Staff from across Britain and Ireland were allowed to vote in the decision.
Hundreds of submissions were made; these submissions were then whittled down to a shortlist by a group of judges.
News Corp staff were then allowed to vote again for the final selection of charities.
£50, 000 was given to The Alzheimer's Society, while The London Air Ambulance, St Christopher's Hospice, Whizz Kids and Children's Hospice Association Scotland all received £10, 000 each.
Ten additional charities were given cheques of £1000; these include Tomorrow's People and Ministry for Stories.
