A social news agency called Storyful has been launched in the UK by News UK.

Storyful will be launching a dedicated news channel in the UK called "UK Newswire" to attract new publishers to sign up for its social media verification services.

The company was acquired by News UK in 2013.

The London team at Storyful will be doubled to total ten individuals.

Storyful verifies the authenticity of content on news providers social media platforms.

It also locates social media content for brands.

Storyful was founded in Ireland originally, and also has a branch in Australia with a dedicated news channel.
