Future Publishing has announced the closure of PC Format magazine after 24 years.
The November issue of PC Format held a shock announcement for readers; the title will be closing after 24 years in print.
Editor Alan Dexter wrote in the final issue: "Whether this is your first issue of PC Format, your tenth, or your 310th. Whether you've brought every issue or just dipped in now and again to see what's happening in the world of PCs over the last 24 years. I thank you for joining us on an incredible journey, and I wish you all the very best in whatever and wherever you go next.
As for the PC Format crew, we'll continue to publish the latest hardware and find the best ways of squeezing more frames per second out of the latest games over on sister titles Maximum PC and PC Gamer. So if you want to keep up to date with the latest hardware, then we'd recommend either (or both) of those publications. Hopefully we'll see you there."
PC Format was last audited by ABC in 2012, when it recorded an average monthly circulation of 6, 249.
The magazine has seen constant circulation decline every year since the year 2000.
In the year 2000, the circulation of PC Format was over 100, 000.
In a statement, Future Publishing said "Future have an active portfolio management policy that allows us to adapt and evolve in the ever changing world of publishing, and ensures we are able to produce the finest content for the consumers. All staff from PC Format have been redeployed to other brands at Future."
