Risk Of Further Redundancies At Newsquest Wiltshire
It has been reported that eight more journalists are at risk of redundancy at Newsquest Wiltshire.
The news that eight more journalists may lose their jobs at Newsquest Wiltshire comes just after six photography staff lost their jobs.
Newsquest Wiltshire made six photography staff redundant in June 2015.
Newsquest Wiltshire publishes titles including the Wiltshire Times and the Swindon Advertiser.
In 2014, 25 jobs across Newsquest Wiltshire and Oxfordshire titles were put at risk of redundancy.
It has been reported that the weekly news editor position is now at risk, along with several production jobs.
"The roll call of job losses goes on during Newsquest's summer sacking season. Experienced journalists are being replaced or are expected to take on lower-paid jobs which will mean they are not out and about reporting local news and meeting local MPs, businesses and the communities they serve. This must surely have an impact on the news coverage in the county." said NUJ national organiser, Laura Davidson.
