Alastair Stuart, founder and launch editor of Scotland on Sunday, has passed away.
On 4th March Alastair Stuart, CBE, passed away at the age of 89.
Stuart was well known as a champion of quality regional journalism.
Stuart was editorial director of Thomson Regional Newspapers, as well as the launch editor of Scotland on Sunday.
In his role as editorial director at Thomson Regional Newspapers, Stuart headed up policy and strategy for numerous daily and weekly titles, including Newcastle Journal and Chronicle, Western Mail and Echo, the Belfast Telegraph, and Scotsman Publications.
Stuart launched Scotland on Sunday in 1988.
He was also chairman of the Caledonian Club, and held prominent positions within the Newspaper Society.
