IPSO has ruled that The Sunday Times must publish a correction after pensions inaccuracies.
The Sunday Times published a story about pensions advice given to a 'secret shopper' in April 2015.
IPSO has ruled that the story in question was inaccurate, thus a correction must be published by the national newspaper.
The story, entitled "Petrifying Advice Given on Pensions", was published on 12th April 2015.
IPSO ruled that it breached the accuracy clause (clause one) of the Editors' Code of Practice.
The story centred around a journalist posing as an unemployed client seeking to withdraw funds from a pension pot.
The journalist contacted several financial advice firms enquiring about withdrawing the funds, and whether the withdrawal would be tax-free.
The Sunday Times has disagreed with the 'inaccurate' ruling, which was brought to attention by Mike Hardy, managing director of Abacus Advice Ltd, who complained about the story.
