The cover price of The New Day has risen to 50p, two weeks after launch.
Trinity Mirror has decided to raise the cover price of The New Day to 50p.
Despite the publishing giant stating recently that the cover price would remain at 25p, the decision has been reversed.
The New Day is aimed in the majority at women, and is a politically neutral title.
The initial sales target was 200, 000 copies but the latest reports suggest that The New Day is selling below 100, 000 copies per day.
The current sales are believed to mean that the newspaper breaks even.
The New Day's launch was backed by a £5M marketing strategy campaign.
It is believed that the new title has an editorial team of 25.
