XtraTime Free Sport Magazine Launched In West Country
Two Bath Chronicle journalists have launched a new free sport magazine called XtraTime in the West Country.
XtraTime will be available across Bristol, Bath, Cheltenham, Gloucester, and Swindon.
It is being run by Neil Beck and Andrew Kerslake, two former Bath Chronicle journalists.
Beck was previously head of sport for the Bath Chronicle, while Kerslake was a journalist and has also previously worked as a cricket commentator for the BBC.
"With the World Cup just around the corner, the Rio Olympics on the horizon and the area's major football and rugby teams very much on the up, these are exciting times to be writing about and commenting on sport in our region." said Beck, going on to say: "I have always believed that the West punches massively above its weight in that area and XtraTime cannot wait to showcase the achievements of sportsmen and women at all levels and across a variety of disciplines.
As a free title, XtraTime will rely solely on advertising for funding.
The first issue of XtraTime was 84 pages long, and included a guide to the upcoming 2015 Rugby World Cup.
Initial circulation of XtraTime will be 30, 000 copies. These copies will be available across 500 distribution outlets, including colleges, universities, cafes, bars, hotels, shops and sports centres.
XtraTime is also available online, with both audio and video content.
